I was lucky enough to play some Over-35 baseball at CHS Field. It is a great ballpark in a really cool spot. All of the old, brick buildings surrounding it along with a view of downtown St Paul, make it a cool spot to see a game.
As a baseball junkie, Target Field may be my favorite MLB stadium that I've seen.

Both great options for guys visiting town for the weekend!

I don't know that I fully believe that. I think people on in Minneapolis and the western suburbs (myself included) are happy to go to St. Paul and happily do so. I personally like Minneapolis more than St. Paul, but have no ill-will toward the 651. What I don't get is people in St. Paul who basically refuse to go to Minneapolis or who rip it.

I don't see the disdain going both ways.

Sorry to have touched upon the ancient "rivalry" between St. Paul & Minneapolis...   

To those coming to the Mashie from out of town, this rivalry is even part of the Minnesota Twins culture, which "Minnie" and "Paul" shaking hands after home runs in the outfield of Target Field:

Good news! Due to Northland's terrific generosity and as a response to high interest in the event, we are expanding the number of confirmed attendees from 40 to 50. I have updated the attendee list in the first post of this thread.

As I know Duluth is not the easiest place to get to, hopefully this helps those previously on the wait list get started with travel arrangements.

In addition, there was some interest in Friday afternoon golf before the event. If people who are traveling from out of town are interested, you can call Northland's Head Professional (John Kuenzli) directly at (218) 525-1970 after July 1st to set up a tee time for that afternoon sometime after roughly 1:00 pm. 

It's a cold morning here in Minnesota, but it is exciting to be thinking about golf in August already!

The Voyageur Lakewalk Inn is an old-school family run motel that doesn't pop-up on all of the hotel search sites.  It's nothing fancy, but the location is great.  It's 3 miles from Northland on the same street (Superior).  And it's a block  from the historic Fitger's Brewery complex which now holds an inn, bars, restaurants, liquor store etc.  Always nice to be able to walk to get a drink.

Given that I don't anticipate spending more than about six hours actually in the room    I figured it was a decent enough option. I know of a couple other folks that booked rooms there as well. Perhaps the Mashie can "take over" the Lakewalk Inn much the same way we did the Green Lake Inn at the 2011 Mashie!
