It's a good point, but it doesn't address why these guys are hitting 8 irons 170-180-190 yards.

Sorry I can't help you with that quote, but I'm sure it met the mark in its circumstance.

So what about a well engineered set of hickories, and a load of Haskell balls?

The price level from the Golf Collectors Society market will justify the investment.
