Taiheiyo Club Minori Course, Japan
« on: November 04, 2023, 11:15:29 AM »
I have been watching some of the LPGA golf from Japan this week. Aside from it being a little too tree-lined, I like the look of the course. Does anyone know much about it? Anyone played it?

I know this is not the point but I learned something today from that link:

Matt -

I do think "clear and simple in style" defines the look of the course. With the current trend in frilly/lacy-edged bunkers, the "clean" edges of the bunkers on this course are a nice change.

I went to Taiheiyo Club thirty years ago on my first visit to Japan.  I didn't see this course; another [the Gotemba course] was considered the better one for challenging the [male] professionals.

There are great views of Mt. Fuji on a clear day.  [I am pretty sure that's the course they used for about ten seconds in the golf scene of "Lost in Translation".]  Very clean lines, as the Japanese like it . . . like Augusta National.

I’ve honestly wondered this for years, thank you
