Last June, a seven-year participant in B4B at our school graduated. He was the most prolific fundraiser ever in the history of our team. Students and colleagues asked what we would do in 2023 and beyond. My answer was the same as it always has been: raise money for cancer research.

When the young man was asked the same question, he responded with a very interesting thought. Why did he join the effort, back in 2016? Raise money for cancer research.

It really is that simple. Cancer touches all of our lives. If, after paying the bills, donating to GCA, and covering all the other important, charitable efforts in your realm, you have a bit of spare cash that you'd like to offer, I'm grateful for your consideration. Hair comes off this year on Friday, February 24th.

At the school where I teach, we have an advisory system. I co-advise 14 students. Behind my back (the nerve!) my co-adviser organized the troops to make a group donation of $300 to Bald For Bucks. I cannot believe it.

Thanks to them, I'm $299 away from the $3000 mark, a goal that I never thought I'd reach this year. If you have a few sheckles, frogskins, ducats, or lampshades, consider donating them today.

The head is bald, and my final tally is $4950. School raised $17150.

In December, my wife was diagnosed with cancerous cells, and is currently in treatment. It changed forever the way I look at this mission.
