Not exactly GCA but since this is the most recent thread on Scioto,

I just saw that Walker Inman, the long-time head pro at Scioto, passed away at age 92 earlier this year.

https://www.dignitymemorial.com/obituaries/port-st-lucie-fl/walker-inman-10804556

The obituary mentions that he was a consummate Southern gentleman, and a man of faith. He was definitely both! I am not much of either, but I greatly enjoyed working in the bag shop at Scioto CC while I was an undergrad at Ohio State University in the 1990s. The assistant pros and bag shop guys were the typical bunch of young bozos, but we had a lot of respect for Mr. Inman and he definitely enjoyed our company even though we were college-age derelicts. I miss those days!

I'm sure that quite a few posters must have met Mr. Inman if you played Scioto pre-2000.

Hi all,

I didn't look at the original video that Will posted (to be honest I was looking for a place to post the news about Walker Inman), but I did come across The Fried Egg's update about Scioto.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Lx8PZQ5kZg

Both videos are worth watching, though the Vimeo video focuses a lot more on the course's history and Jack Nicklaus. The Fried Egg has a good interview with Andrew Green, and I have to say that based solely on the video the green sites have changed dramatically from what I remember circa 1994-1998.

Would have loved to have been a fly on the wall when Jack Nicklaus learned that Andrew Green had been hired. I can't imagine that news went over too well with Big Jack.
