I've added photos from Pebble Beach to my website.  Unlike Spyglass and Pasatiempo, I didn't take very many of these.  My wife snapped photos while I played.  Hence, the artistic quality may have been improved, while the relevance to shotmaking may have declined.  Not that it really matters.  This is probably one of the most photographed courses in the world.

A few pictures of me even slipped in.  My feet are too close and I'm swinging on too flat of a plane.

I was e-mailing my caddie at Pebble to show him the photos when I noticed his job title on the business card he gave me.

Apparently, he's not a caddie at all, but instead a "Windage and Elevation Consultant."

Pebble is a great golf course on a beautiful site.

If you can get around in a reasonable time, it's a joy to play.

Perhaps it's the angle, but I don't remember the path being so wide and so close.

That's one thing I found terribly disappointing about Pebble Beach.  There was a lot of traffic on the paths.  Trucks were driving by throughout the round.  See the photo of No. 16 too.  And the maintenance crew had no remorse when driving by during your shot.  I was very surprised by the traffic.

Something you may notice throughout the pictures is how often you'll find people teeing off within your line of sight.  You're trying to aim at the pin, and the group in front is wandering on the next tee directly in your view.

Nonetheless, it was still an enjoyable round.  Some of the views were breathtaking.

Is there any hole brighter than the 17th at Pebble?  With the sun and it's reflection off the ocean, it must be the brightest hole in golf?

     I am quite surprised at how flat No. 17 appears to be in the photograph, and wonder if players struggle with the lack of depth perception on this hole? I assumed the back bunkers were built into low-profile mounding behind the green and could be used as targets from the tee. Obviously one would not want to spoil the terrific vista the routing exploits here!!

Although not golf related...just wanted to say that at least you went to a "respectable" school near downtown Atlanta before heading northeast to that "other" school in Georgia.

The caddie was the cheapest thing at Pebble Beach!    It was an expensive trip; but, if I'm going to make a sincere effort at being a golf course architect, then there are a handful of must-play courses.  Pebble Beach is certainly one of them.

I have not been to England, Scotland, or Ireland...yet.  That will probably be my next "big" trip.  I'd even like to work there for a short time.

One of my goals is to play every Alister MacKenzie course that exists.  That may take the rest of my lifetime, though.  I'm having a little difficulty getting on the one down the road in Augusta.

I was a little disappointed in the 17th.  The bunker in front is actually a decent size; but, from the tee it looks like a thin line.  The hole is so flat that it disguises how large the bunker is.  I found the hole entirely unintimidating.

Having seen the clip of Watson in the Open many times before, I expected the area around the green to be more undulating.

By the way, 18 was playing dead into a brisk wind.  I hit driver, 4 wood, 4 wood, putt, putt, par.
