Lazy Swan G&CC( 1968, Barry Jordan) in Saugerties, NY

In 2009 the club decided to expand the course from 9 to 18 holes and hired a construction company to do the work pursuant to an alleged oral agreement. The work was completed in 2011.  Needless to say the contractor was not paid  and filed a lawsuit in 2015 which is on appeal. The amount in dispute is not mentioned in the court's decision:

Samuel Goldwyn of MGM once said, "An oral contract is as good as the paper it's written on."

Ben Hogan “The most important shot in golf is the next one”

I grew up in that area about 10 miles away in the mountains. I returned home several times this summer/fall. I am reliably told that this course is permanently closed

I had driven by Lazy Swan many times over the years and finally got off the thruway exit to play it last August. Here's a link to photos https://www.flickr.com/photos/golfcoursepix/albums/72157710340019867

I have some possible news regarding Lazy Swan.

I drove by the course on my way back to my hometown in the Catskills.

It’s mowed and being maintained.

There are several workers on the course. One of them told me they’re doing what amounts to a soft opening in September with the intent of fully reopening next year.

** Edit **

Attached article indicates a July opening. That didn’t happen but also mentions there won’t be a restaurant or a golf pro
