Glimpses of Long Island's Country Clubs
« on: June 03, 2019, 10:49:15 AM »
In 1932, the Brooklyn Times Union ran a series of articles on country clubs on Long Island.  While the articles don't go into a ton of detail on the architectural history of these courses (and don't cover the entire island), they do provide a nice snapshot of the golf scene during the early days of the depression, a scene that was apparently thriving.

April 1, 1932 Brooklyn Times Union -

I'm going to post these in the order they were printed.  Please feel free to chime in with any comments or questions.

Cool Sven you are always good for digging up some good stuff.  How many of these are still around, I know Garden City only.  Thanks.
