I came across this article from 1964 covering Sea Pines Resort's "Ocean Course" (the original George Cobb course at Sea Pines) and it's "VP of Maintenance" Donald O'Quinn.

Donald was a great fellow and very involved during the construction of the Harbour Town course.

That's roughly $540k in 2018 dollars but still pretty low.

I thought there were several interesting bits to the article. For example, the explanation of the fertilizer mix based on seasonal demands. Just very old school stuff!
