I forgot about the Falls in LV.  I was there for a bachelor party, so my memory may be clouded, but I thought it was a lot of fun.

Definitely qualifies as NLE!

It seems that No Longer Existing courses appears more of an American phenomenon? Robin wins the prize for most from a UK player as far as I can tell.

I can only think of 3 myself, and to get this up to that I've had to play one of those in Texas!

Braunstone, Leics, municipal course, suspect council didnt want to fund it any more.
Ashbourne, Derbyshire, original 9 hole course made way for new 18.
Waterwood, Texas? I believe this is NLE?

Cheers,

James

I've always confused the current Upper Dublin GC, formerly Twining Valley, with Pinetown , formerly Burn Brae? Was Upper Dublin formerly Burn Brae too? Where exactly was Pinetown located?

Steve,
Upper Dublin, formerly Twining Valley was originally Burn Brae.
Pinetown was a 12 hole course located on Pinetown Road between Susquehanna Ave and Highland Ave.  As a kid, played most of my golf at Pinetown and Walnut Lane.  When I broke 100 for the first time, I got to play Burn Brae with my father.

What I find interesting is many of mine were from the Sarasota area where my grandparents vacationed (and I haven't been back since the late 90's).  Looking at aerials of that area it just appears that there have been many new courses built (mostly with community developments) and they've essentially one old public course closes for every two new ones that have been built.

Just thought of another for me, the Mountain Course at The Broadmoor.

Closed due to landslides, unlikely to be rebuilt I've heard.
So I jump ship in Hong Kong....

Just thought of one more. Middleton Park which is an original Dr. Mac 9 holer in Leeds. The council extended it to 18 in the 80's by adding another 9 holes which where absolutely awful. Despite making a profit the council has let it go fallow in a cost cutting measure despite offers from people to pay to take it on. All of the original 9 holes from Mackenzie are still there almost intact and are very good.

2 more NLE courses in the Philadelphia area:  Warrington in Bucks County and Presidential on City Line Avenue.  I never played them.

Limekiln, Center Square and Philmont South are next in line for NLE status.

Brad, I'd forgotten about this NLE course, originally done by Palmer/Seay, closed due to landslides, rebuilt and reopened by Nicklaus's organization several years later. then more landsides and closed again in 2016. It really was a terrible site for a golf course, and that harsh GCA critic Mother Nature agreed. A lot of $$ down the drain there.

Yeah for sure.  I only played it once, perhaps 2012 or 2013?  I actually liked it quite a bit after going in with few expectations.

The highlight of my round was completely busting a cart tire on the corner of one of the curbs...luckily I was close to the clubhouse so I limped it back and, not that I deserved another vehicle, re-loaded!
So I jump ship in Hong Kong....

Just a few:

High Pointe
New Rogell
And from what I understand Nicklaus's course at King's Island near Cincinnati is not the same course I played 15-20 years ago.

We've been pretty lucky in Michigan that even with our abundance of public and resort tracks, most survived the Great Recession.
