Anything by Steve Winwood...but if pressed to pick a specific song, it would be Valerie.

Arc of a Driver??

Depends on who I'm playing with, but if I ever tee it up with JakaB I hope they play this on the first tee -

Now if I am teeing it with Jaka, I'm going with the Gambler (Phish & Rogers version)

Then exiting the 18th green, I'm going with Glory Days (The Boss & Phish)

I was sure you'd go Huey Lewis & the News, likely something from Sports.
It's impossible to pick just one song. So I'd need to go with Valerie and then Hip to be Square and then Power of Love.

I think their undisputed masterpiece is "Hip To Be Square."  The song's so catchy, most people probably don't listen to the lyrics.
But they should, because it's not just about... the pleasures of conformity and the importance of trends.  It's also a personal statement about the band itself.

About three weeks ago, Huey Lewis & The News played the driving range at Pumpkin Ridge.  It was loud, but quite fun.

On occasion, my Dad used to hum "The Wabash Cannonball" to himself while playing golf.  He found the tempo appropriate for the game.  I guess he had his own private walk up song.

The "Arc Of A Driver" comment was golden.

The legendary teacher Ernest Jones claimed that the Blue Danube Waltz is the perfect tempo for the golf swing.  Used to drive my wife crazy when I hummed it while swinging.  Not walk up material though.

An important distinction, Ira.
I employ on old-style swing (at least in theory), one on the Ernst Jones-Tommy Armour-Sam Snead line. For the actual swing, yes, the waltz tempo is ideal -- and just to keep me slow away from the ball, so is the aforementioned Georgia on My Mind. BUT, as walk-up material, you're right that neither will do. For that, I think I'd pick The Who - Teenage Wasteland/Baba O'Riley

No question, for me, it has to be "Backstreets" (Bruce Springsteen); my all-time favorite song.

Sven that is a great song and a terrific rendition too. Mine would be David Bowie's Ziggy Stardust. The opening riff is perfect for a walkup to the first tee...  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XXq5VvYAI1Q

"Pressure Under Fire" by Gov't Mule....;-)

If you guys don't know the band, do yourself a favor and investigate.
Warren Haynes played in the Allman Brothers for the past 20 years and his own band has at least 15 albums.

Warren Haynes and Gov't Mule? Thanks for squaring that away for us Ian. Who knew? ;)
