Decent pics of Blue Ridge from a visit with my friend Mike Cirba a handful of years ago:

I went to college not far from here and we used to play this course in a tournament every year.

For whatever reason this course fit my eye. I had my two best finishes at this place.

Sad to see it go.

Bummer.

A relative of Old Tom himself designed the course.

They had a three day two-man tournament every year. Good event that drew a good field when I played in it. Not a course that I ever liked all that much over 10+ playings. Virtually every hole was straightaway to a green that was sloped steeply back to front and really fast. Not a lot of variety but tough to score well on and generally in good shape when it was private. With privates  Felicitas, Hershey Links/Wren Dale(Hurdzan and Fry) and now Blue Ridge along with publics Monroe Valley(Ault/Clark) and Hershey Parkview(Maurice McCarthy) that's 90 holes off the market in the Harrisburg area in the last decade, and except for Felicitas(IMO) all of good to very good quality.

Hirsh's article is a classic.  But, are there numbers for us to consider?  Financial details?  Membership numbers?  How's the area doing generally?  (By virtue of my Pennsylvania birth, my birth certificate is recorded in Harrisburg.  That's as close as I get!)
