I have received this response from the local historian at the Goshen Public Library:

I have searched our files and found nothing in the Hugh Browne/ Brownleigh Park file relating to a golf course.  Only mentions the athletic club where boxers came for training.  I also searched the Independent Republican newspaper of Goshen and found nothing.  I guess it was a secret here.  I am going to keep the article you sent. If I find anything, I will send it to you.
