I was thinking along the same lines. I can't think of many classic courses that have hosted U.S. championships while still retaining as much of their original/traditional qualities and essence as Riviera does.Peter

Bill, Oakmont was altered, far beyond "tweaking" in order to prepare it for Opens.It's when you get into the moderns that tweaking is required.
