Pretty Sure I Don't Miss This...

...idea from 1952 -  it revolted Revolta.     RTJ's train might have worked well at a Disney course.  ;D

That's a beauty.

Question:  how do you get to the clubhouse to start?  Does #9 play around the parking lot, or is there a tunnel entrance somewhere?

The dawn of "stadium golf?"

From the logistical side to make this work, wouldn't every tournament have to use a shortgun start? And in that case, most of the gallery would still miss the most important action.

I was thinking more a Roman amphitheater, with the Emperor sitting right in the middle and with golfers who are playing poorly being eliminated (permanently, I'm afraid) not by score but by the Emperor's "thumbs down".  There'd be hundreds of pros trying to get their amateur status back.

Hey, it just struck me: we still have the "Emperor's Thumbs Down" today.  Have you ever read Tommy N going on about Art Hill courses?

Houtrak in the Netherlands has six holes fanning radially from the clubhouse.  It's almost as if it were routed by Pierre L'Enfant, though when you don't have something like the Capitol Building or Washington Monument to focus your axis on, the effect on the ground isn't as strong as that from the air.
