Fairmont St. Andrews?

Can anyone tell me that current status of the two courses at the Fairmont in St. Andrews? My understanding there will be a renovation that will convert the two courses into one "championship" course. Not sure what will happen with the rest of the land there.

Has this work started yet? If not, when is it expected to start, assuming the project is still going forward?

Hearing that the property is/was the subject of a negotiated sale transaction. Nothing yet concrete, but under consideration from a well-known buyer.
