3 (great lighting and display of the characteristics of the hole) and 1 get my vote.  I liked course #1 alot and it would have won if those were footprints in the dew.

#1 and #3

As I recall a B&W won last year, no?  I think golf courses always look good that way.

Special dispensation for Jud's late offering. There is no sense in the committee deciding to time-bar something that stellar.

Oth4rwise, I vote #2 and #1.

County Down, with the Mountains of Mourne rising towards the sky, is the ultimate trump card.

Four generations on the putting green wins for sheer emotional content because chances are, the next time there will only be three.

Jud, great call.

We lost a great one this year and the world of golf and, in particular hickory golf, is a little less well off as we close this year...

Ralph was one of a kind and I am privileged to have known him for a very short time. I am sitting in my office at home looking at a set of T. Stewart hickories I purchased from his collection - very fortunate to have them and I can't wait to take my first swing with them at Kingsley next spring...

Unfortunately, my annual Christmas trip to Bandon makes it so that I'm too late to offer an entry this year, and too early to qualify for "2013 photos" next year. But ...

Joe:

The 2013 edition of the contest will have a dispensation for photos taken in 2012 post-cutoff date.

Those are great shots.

The votes have been counted and verified by a reputable accounting firm.

The easy one first, in the People of the Game category, the Four Generations of Blume eked by Quinn's Aunts by a scant four votes:

In the Course category, we have a result that is unprecedented in the storied history of this contest, a tie.  All five photos were separated by less than five votes for first through fifth places, demonstrating the depth of the field.  Without any further ado, your co-champions:

Happy New Year to all, and looking forward to seeing how 2013 unfolds for everyone in next year's contest.
