Be careful, Cory is a shark.
Damn Sam.  I haven't played live poker in over a year and your already giving me a reputation?  Unless we all get on our computers and play on the internet I don't thing I'm going to do that well.  The only thing that may work to my advantage is I, of course, will be the most sober player at the table ;D

We should try to get a count for how many people are playing poker so we know if some of us should bring extra chips and cards.

So far its me and you partner.  With two decks of cards and a few hundred thousand in chips we can do a simple $40 buy in or something and play no limit.  Depending on how many jump in pay out the top 2 or 3 or something...thats a fun format I've found.

Do I have to send in a deposit for this?  Or can we take it out of the budget for course number II ?

Tom, you might be the only one at the 5th Major who has the legitimate excuse of "Sorry guys, I need to be in Rio tomorrow" to bow out.  Of course, if I'm in Kalen's hold 'em game, I might try the same thing!

One thing I know about Chris S., is he likes a good cigar!  And so do I?

Eric, I don't have a partner, but I'd prefer a 14 handicap who regularly breaks 80.  Thanks.  TW

I'll partner with you Tony.

But I'm an 8 handicap who regularly breaks 90 (the wrong way).   ;D

Just paired up with JohnNeverChokes Lyon, sponsored by Patron.

He should change his last name to LION, cause that's how the kid plays!

I'm thinking the club may make more on beverage sales than golf and lodging with this group! ;)

Scott,

You got that right!

JNC & CJ,

Your team chemistry is going to blow. One of you walking while the other rides? Hmm...it will free up space for the 5 Gallon Bucket of BUDSŪ, so what the hell do I know...you may have found the winning formula!!

Do I have to send in a deposit for this?  Or can we take it out of the budget for course number II ?

Tom,

To answer your question - no, you do not have to send a deposit. George Bros. Gaming Tables, Inc. is underwriting the entry fee.;)

I do highly recommend you take up Anthony on his offer to carry your bag! I've used him a couple of times and give him high marks for the most part. I suspect he'll do a fine job for you out at Dismal, seeing as there aren't any shade trees on the golf course.

Lastly, the prospect of a guided tour of No.2 that weekend by you and (hopefully) Don and Brian is about as good as it gets here at Golf Club Atlas IMO. I sincerely hope you can make it.

CARPOOLING

Several have messaged me re: getting there from airports in Denver and Omaha. I suggest getting together in groups and renting cars, mini vans or SUVs for the journey. If you would like to do so, post here with flight times and I'll help to sort it out. Thanks!

Eric:

I have a feeling that the money that I could make from being "the house" at a participants blackjack table might be able to pay for my entire trip for 10 years!!!  Also, what is up with the "all initials team" of CJ and JNC or as they will be called after the outing - "Cart Jockey" and "Just Not a Challenge"

If Tom joins the group in Dismal, do you think Jack would come out too to give a 2nd guided tour ;D

I actually am heading to Vegas next week (after all the golfers leave).  After taking down The Venetian casino ;), I should be in fine shape for any wagers in the sand hills - - - which really means after coming home broke from Vegas, I will be hiding money from my wife for 3 1/2 months to cover the Dismal trip.

Really looking forward to the trip.  Nothing better than beating a golden domer!

Michael -

I promised Patron I would walk...from the cart to Jack's!  May walk the whole thing with my new and very cool "Dismal" MacKenzie.  I just hope my belly outter doesn't slow me down!

Since we don't post scores at Dismal River, the Tournament Chair has assured me an 13-15 handicap.

You may prevail at poker, buit I can all but guarantee Patron and I will win the $20 buy in "Man vs Food" contest if I can avoid the Guinness curse.  Kavanaugh and Smith will be too full of beer to mount but a token challenge.  You see, it takes alot of calories for me to maintain this weight.

And, since you have involked the Domers, you will greatly enjoy your 3:30 A.M. wake-up call, probably not as much as the 4:15 one that will follow.

Old "201" awaits.  Should be fun.

If that is the only way he can stop me from whooping his Fighting Irish ***, so be it. ;)  I actually like Notre Dame, but as an Ohio guy (like CJ), the Bucks should come first.  CJ - I will be bringing the Buckeye Battle Cry in my ipod and will be playing it on the first tee of our match!

Saltz - The Tournament Chairman has you at a 1, but a case or two of Guinness will get you to, maybe, a 3.  ;)

Eric - never thought about the hot water.  That's good.  Very, very good.  ;D  Far better than a jar of crickets.

Michael - I'm a Buckeye with a strong current Domer bias.  Head-to-head, I root for the Buckeyes.  There was a time (long ago) when I played (well, I was on the team, anyway) for OSU, so the Buckeye Battle Cry will help.  Now, if Rich Choi has the stones to show up, it just might work.

Anthony - Patron and I are looking for a caddy.  By Eric's photo, you'll fit right in!  Mid round naps are part of the strategy.

Other than carrying my tired butt around, Patron will be responsible for keeping everyone up too late.  Kids don't much need sleep.
