Sorry Jeff, I knew you'd be disappointed in me but as it was I was rushing to make the ferry from Orient Point. The thought crossed my mind but I figured I needed to give myself a good reason to get back out to East Long Island...

I did finally meet David Davis when he came to a little private dinner we were having at the delightful Links Club in Manhatten.

I've stopped telling Mrs C I'm off on the "trip of a lifetime" as I've done too many now!

Judge,

   I really enjoyed Kingsley and was fortunate to have played three rounds there a few weeks back. Of that list, it was the one I'd never played before. Each round was progressively revealing and enjoyable. It's a sporty course I could happily play multiple times in variable conditions and likely not tire of.

    That said, I've been lucky and fortunate enough to have played many other courses that heartily compete with a place like Kingsley and probably just nudge it out of my Top 50. CrystalDowns, however, would easily fit well inside my Top 30.

Patterson C C -  (Fairfield, CT)
Pine Valley -  (PV - NJ )
Alamance GC -  (Burlington, NC near ELON Univ  FUN old D Ross course) 
Longaberger -  (Newark, Ohio  near DENISON Univ.)
Merion G C - East, (Ardmore, PA)   
Westchester C C – North Course (Rye,NY) ,
Westchester C C – South Course,  (Rye, NY),
TC at Yale -  (New Haven,CT) {{{  playing in two days at the O C Punchbowl

Of course - how could I leave out our Flynn gem - Springdale GC in Princeton, NJ.    One of the best courses to walk on a regular basis.

Brian...

Sand Ridge was a gorgeous place to play golf.  It lacked a bit of strategy until some of the later holes...but even then it wasn't an epic type of golfing experience where you had to think prior to hitting every shot.  It is a nice place to play and makes for an enjoyable day.  I think that lovers of strategic golf courses might not care for it.  But, if your love the relaxing round in a great setting...you'll love Sand Ridge.

You played it?  What do you think?
