USGA Publinks...no problem with double tee starts @ Trails and Old Mac

The first and tenth tees are pretty far removed at Trails and Old Mac, but no problem was found...despite the architecture.

not sure the point of this...the double tee start worked fine, but a road had to be built to make it work at Trails, and even then lots of help from volunteer transportation people and rented/donated cars was essential.  this sort of thing is doable for a nationsl championship, but for everyday play it makes little economic sense.

They aren't going to start doing double-tee starts for resort play in my lifetime.  I assume the point of the thread was that they can do it for big events if necessary; but there's hardly anywhere it can't be done, if they want to bother.  They do it at Pebble Beach for the US Open, and it couldn't get much more inconvenient than that!
