I haven't played any of them, except in my dreams:

The Old Course
National Golf Links of America
Augusta National
Ballybunion (Old)
Cypress Point
Life's too short to waste on bad golf courses or bad wine.

If I only had 5 rounds before I pegged it I'm not sure I would rush to play courses I hadn't played before. I think with a lot of courses, especially some of the better ones you only appreciate fully their qualities after a couple of plays at least. Therefore with limited opportunities left I don't think I would squander all my rounds where I was basically learning the course. There always the chance that you might not like the course as well so on that basis I would go for the following;

1 - Silloth - might not be the best course I've played but right now I'm struggling to think of one thats better, however this course gets on my list not because of how good it is but because its possibly my favourite. A course that gives you a chance to score well but at the same time each hole can bite if you play it loosely.

2 - Gullane 2 or 3 - again, both are favourites and I would happily take either depending on which had a tee-time available.

3 - Cypress Point - a beautiful looking course that fires the imagination. Never played it but happy to take my chances that I might be disappointed.

4 - NGLA - while I'm on that side of the pond I think I'd like to go see what all the fuss was about.

5 - Silloth - too good not to go back and have one more go !

-The Old Course
-Morfontaine
-Royal Melbourne
-NGLA or Fishers Island (still undecided)
-Cypress Point (my only replay; a great place for a 'last round')

The first three are easy - never seen them & where else would you see such great architecture and such great, unique settings?

Pine Valley
NGLA
The Old Course

Royal County Down  - No other course outside those top 3 are as intriguing to me. This is one place I'd love to spend a week at and just soak up the course and the atmosphere.

Sand Hills - No other place in the golf world has the effect that SH has on me. All I have to do is see a photo or hear the words and in an instant I'm transported back there remembering every detail about the place.

Heaven on earth.

Royal County Down
Cypress Point
National Golf Links
Augusta National
Royal Cinque Ports

My final round would have to be at Deal and start with a boozy lunch, a couple of Kummels and a 2.5 hour foursome with three mates.

3. Cypress Point
4. Shinnecock
5. A return trip to Sand Hills.

Indeed tough to pick just five.
