This has been going on for years.  Despite a bunch of old dudes in Green Jackets running the place the Masters has always been a leader in technology.  I remember a DVD/CD they produced before the internet and the video and flyovers were something to watch over and over.

Bill Gates...yeah, he knows a little bit about the Web and computers. Plus, with the money ANGC has, they can hire some really good advertising guys, tech guys and any other specialists that could possibly be needed. And imagine how much money they could make if they offered Master's logo merchandise to the public outside the tournament?

That isn't yellow grass it is leaves and other droppings from the trees.  As the storm came through the course was covered flowers and leaves.  Around the green is a result of the staff blowing the greens clean between groups.

I'm pretty sure Bill Gates has exactly zero to do with the Masters tournament or anything else associated with it. (Besides, Micosoft isn't exactly known as an innovator in the field... ) Smart management/owners know what they don't know, and seek expertise elsewhere -- which is the opposite impression the Augusta National folks usually give off...

it is a truely phenomenal website. The ability to click and see each players highlights is awesome. Its almost worth watching it online vs the tv as you don't have to watch the adverts ttehy just pause the coverage.


on a side note did anybody see the tiger press conference. i am sure i saw that one of his teeth was brown/damaged. i dont recall seeing that before. is this the remains of the alleged surgery.

Actually I think it is pollen.  Was in Atlanta this week and it was a plague of pollen everywhere.  The sky had a yellow tinge it was so bad.  The rain has deposited it now on the ground.

I think the best part of the video feeds are the mics out on the course.  You can almost feel the ball striking....did anybody just hear Camillo clank it on #11?  Wow!!

I also love the great sounds picked up by the close mics.  You get the occasional colorful remark from one of the pros but you really feel more like you're there.  But I have to say...

These announcers are driving me nuts...a lot of misinformation and no corrections.

I'm listening to the Amen Corner guys...they are basically making guesses as to what happened on the leaderboard (said Westwood birdied 1 and 2, when he made eagle on 2 instead; said Watson parred the first 2 and bogeyed the 3rd, when he actually bounced bogey-birdie-bogey).  If you don't know what happened, don't guess and say it in a confident tone.

maybe they are showing us an angle that us regular guys might be faced with! 

On the amen corner comentary watching this online today and yesterday they have said the same comments about some of the players as they came through. mike wier was almost identical wording about being the first canadian to win a major and a lover of ice hockey.

They also said the amongst Couples, Woods, et al that were high on the leaderboard yesterday that Westwood was not one of the bigger names. I found that a little silly given he won the Race to Dubai last year, nearly won the open and had good showings in USPGA and i think the USOpen too.

This all started several years when Lou Gerstner was chairman of IBM and an Augusta member took control of technology for Augusta.  IBM also became one of the presenting sponsors.  John Akers was also an IBM board member and Augusta member.

To me this year they have taken it to a new level, at least with the photos.  The content has always been very generic.  The streaming video to me has improved and is impressive.
