Ed Oden:Wonderful idea, subject and thread. Thank you.I would note of all those various plans a few of Mackenzie's (Kingston Heath, El Boqueron, Cavendish) that seem to be far more developed architectural drawings than just basic "stick routings" (which tend to have little on them other than lines) and the interesting treatment of fairways on those Mackenzie plans. Kingston Heath has a number of areas of what we call "melded fairways" between holes and the other two seem to purposefully have no fairway lines at all on those fairly highly developed architectural drawings. Was this the actual application of the mention by the likes of Mackenzie and Behr that they wanted to experiment with basically no formal rough in an attempt to take "strategic" architecture and strategic play to another and far more advanced level?
