Lester George was kind enough to forward a map of The Old White course at the Greenbrier as of July 2010...

Thanks Lester!

Here is an interesting series of drawings from Turnberry's club history showing the progression of the Ailsa routing originally posted by Mark Bourgeois in this thread... http://www.golfclubatlas.com/forum/index.php/topic,27257.msg516215/topicseen.html#msg516215

The routing for the original Willie Fernie course, 1901

The Cecil Hutchinson Ailsa, completed in 1938

Here is another map of The Old White at the Greenbrier courtesy of Lester George.  This one, however, dates all the way back to 1914!

Pat, that is an excellent point.  Dare I say among the most persuasive I have ever seen penned in these pages.  So, upon further reflection, I have once again tweaked credit for the PV map.

Ed, your chances are improving significantly, keep up the good work. ;D

Ed,

Not to interfere with your plans for GCGC, but Pat is delusional that I got the Colt plan from him.   ::)  I got it from someone else, who shall remain nameless.  It was also posted by Mike Cirba in post 1435 on the Pine Valley and Topos thread.  I didn't get it from Mike.  Feel free to take my name off the credit, but putting Pat's there is a joke.  You can, of course, use the thread name.

I see Pat has amended his complaint post, but before doing so, he originally claimed credit for giving me one version of the "stick routing topo", not the Colt plan.  For the record, he did give me one version of the "stick routing topo".  For the record, he did NOT give me the Colt PV plan.

Sadly, it appears that my original NLE response to Pat's post may have been closer to reality than the humor it was intended to provide.

Ed,

When I viewed the schematic/map on my Iphone, I mixed it up with the stick routing which I supplied to Bryan.

I had also previously posted the Red/Blue Colt/Crump schematic in reply # 370 in August, 2011..
