I'm trying to think up a good clue for this, or one better than the one that Mark already provided.............

Think of a land, populated with Girls that use a particular shampoo once popular in the U.S.........land that is covered with coniferous forest.........damn, this is NOT working..........

Yes, RAF Lakenheath which is a big American air base. The trouble is that you are all so brilliantly knowledgeable about UK golf courses that I might have to get devious. Watch this space....
