Absolutely.  I think any course worth its salt should allow them - especially when it is under 40 degrees.

I'm glad you posted this one, Jason. I was going to mention #9 at Sutton Bay if no one else did.
It's a hell of a hole -- no ground game, though...


Oh, and you can wear your denims at SCC anytime. Fortunately, we don't see a lot of blue jeans in the summer.

At the pictured Santa Teresa - a very humble public course by CA standards - jeans are very normal attire.  People don't want to ruin their good pants as it's often wet and muddy.  I've played tournaments there in jeans.

For the life of me I can't see how the proposed changes to 7 and 8 will be net improvements to either golf hole.  But I guess we should wait and see....
