Paul Richards,

It is significant that the plan didn't just pass, that it passed overwhelmingly.  This is a membership mandate for change, and those that spearheaded the project, politically, should be commended.

Hopefully, the work will turn out terrific, on time and on budget, setting a great example for other clubs, giving them the impetus to embark upon a similar mission.

Have you hired a contractor/shaper.  This is really important.  Don't scrimp here get a good one.

Congratulations to you and the club. I know how much this means to you. It means a lot to me also to see this go through with all you told us about the process--I know how hard it can be--believe me I do know.

The implementation process is the next step--a very important one--stay in touch on here--we're all very interested. Good luck and job well done to date!

Paul- congratulations...Rick Holland asked me to host Mike Floodstrand  at Oakmont during the spring DJ Ross meeting. We had a great time this May in the 'Burgh playing Oakmont. Mike F. realizes that it will take patience to complete the plan. It has taken us 12 years at Oakmont to get "THE LOOK" sans trees that WC Fownes left for us to enjoy in 1950 when he passed away. Good point about the "overwhelmingliness" of the mandate.  Anytime you get 86% of the vote, there must be some concensus!

Fantastic work!!! It will be very exciting to see what happens now.
There must be a few other members (86%) that share your passion and vision. What a great place Beverly must be. The work you and your team did on informing the membership and getting such support should be a model for all clubs needing restoration. Excellent news.

Servicescape is an independent landscape-service company which Beverly hired to oversee our Superintendent and staff.

Servicescape also supervises at the Dunes, Harborside International, Long Beach, and other courses.

They do a great job!

Battleplan now, for this fall, is to concentrate on the expansion of the green pads back to their original size.

Last fall, #5, #9 and #17 were done to a great reception.
