I think the Koalas are at Karrinyup TE, not Kidnappers :)

Tom, it may have even been Mrs Morrissett that made the point about Hawkes Bay possessing its own micro-climate; it really is true. In NZ the air becomes very dry passing over the central plateau or Southern Alps so places like Alexandra and Hastings always seem to be searing by January. To be honest though I think you guys should probably be more worried about quakes than drought where you are working  ;)

Tom,

I think that we should continue to encourage architects to post here, but we also don't need architects throwing stones at each other's glass houses. ;D See your post below to Jeff Mingay.

Tom; great to hear about the progress.  Just missed you at PD; was there last week.  Even better than last year notwithstanding my horrendous play.

Trumpet Blower:

I seem to recall a similiar post the last time Tom Doak gave us a report on Cape Kidnappers. Just a slam at Tom without giving us any information or alternative view that Tom may not have shared. Indeed, it seemed like the anonymous poster had never seen the place.

I'll credit Tom for going out on a limb and saying the long journey would be worth it.

Have you seen Cape Kidnappers? Can you actually tell us anything about it?

Hey, what's going on here ?

What kind of double standard is this ?

I get criticized for promoting and Tom Doak gets a pass ?

Where is Patrick Mucci when I need him ?

You don't need Mucci! I'll take care of you on here! That'll be one mil now and one mil later!

Forgetaboutit--it's the deal of the art!

Donald can't you read, Mr. Mucci has already defended you and your "over the top course" on another thread. Guess he doesn't know about that little CHEATING incident over at GCGC. Mr Mucci is the GCA Superhero, defender of all, even cheats and over the top, over shaped, expensive to build, eye candy golf  courses done by the architects this site is clearly, but rightly bias against.

Guest,

Firstly, I never defended his remake of Briar Hall.
Instead, I suggested, rather than attack it critically without having ever seen it, don't you think we should play it first.
Perhaps you don't subscribe to that format and would rather make judgements without seeing a golf course.

We saw another claim of cheating on the part of a golf figure some time ago, that proved baseless.

Making personal accusations, especially anonymously is improper at the very least, cowardly at best.
If  you have facts that can be verified by third parties, come forward with them, stand behind them, and add credibility to them by revealing your real name.

Could you elaborate on the alleged cheating at GCGC.

You're right, I do tend to defend individuals from personal attacks, especially when no facts are presented, and, the attacks are made anonymously.

Be critical, but be fair.

And, if you're capable, be honest.

That shouldn't be to much to ask of anyone.

Just had to take the rare opportunity to read one of Pat's non-architecturally related posts & say, well said, I don't think I can disagree with anything in that post!  :)

I'm no fan of The Donald BUT...

References to cheating are serious, libelous and not appropriate unless you can PROVE it.

Did you see it? Will you go "on the record" about it?

If "no" to either of the above, please get lost.

GeorgeP;

I can't see anything in Pat's post to disagree with either but just on general principle I should go on record as disagreeing with him anyway!

George:

Do you see that?

I've always known Pat was never completely sure if he was right about anything until he got confirmation from me.
