Many new and resort courses have containment from tee to green. While I understand that this allows errant shots to stay near the line of play, is this simply lazy design or a requirement of some sort? Could it be in any way a requirement for a "links style design?"
I am doing my best to provide for the benefit of doubt, but I see this as unimaginative, boring and lacking in challenge.
defend the inclusion of these berm/barriers for me so I might understand their use!
