Alternative holes at Rustic Canyon
« on: March 05, 2004, 04:35:05 PM »
The floods and changes at #7 got me thinking about alternative holes that could be played at KPIII if we had the run of the course.....which I don't think we will.  Having not played there, and only looking at Scott's AOTD, I came up with these.  thoughts??

1 - played normally
2 - #2 tee to #5 green
3 - rear of #5 green to #2 green
4 - #3 tee to #4 green, up #3 fairway (looks like an interesting tee-shot)
5 - #5 tee to #6 green
6 - played normally (put in a 2nd hole...what the heck??)
7 - played normally without flood, or from #6 tee to #7 green
8 - #9 tee to #8 green (hole-in-one contest..good ego booster)
9 - played normally
10 - #10 tee to #17 green
11 - #18 tee to #10 green
12 - #11 played normally
13 - #12 played normally
14 - #13 played from #12 (back tee)
15 - #14 tee (cape) to #15 green
16 - #16 tee to #15 green
17 - #16 tee to #17 green (hell's half-acre at the end)
18 - played normally

That's some pretty cool creative thinking!  Sounds like you've played a bit of cross-country, create your own hole golf in your time, Brian.

We've done exercises like this before here, but I don't think we've ever done entire re-routes like you just did.  Very cool.

Here's the course I put together for the outing we play on Thanksgiving (not sure why the white areas can out black in pictures?).

The front nine:

The back nine:

And just for completeness, we put together a scorecard:
