From a column by Tillinghast in Golf Illustrated, 1915:
This reference to Hell Bunker calls to mind a post-card which Ben Sayers sent to his old rival at St. Andrews, when the little North Berwick pro' was in America last. He addressed it to:
Andrew Kirkaldy,
Hell Bunker,
St. Andrews,
Scotland.
"I lost his address," explained Ben, "but I thocht it would find him."
And it did.

Neil,
Absolutely classic!
I wish I could say I owned the place right next door!
-
Tommy,
Are you referring to Hell's Kitchen?

If you guys like having nightmares, then checkout the Bunker at Royal St Georges 4th. hole :'( freddies home :o

Mike either the Kitchen or Pulpit. It doesn't matter, their both great challenges!
-
Read a great story about the Pulpit the other day.
Somebody asked a caddy at TOC how the Pulpit bunker got its name. The caddy said it got its name because you can see Hell from it.
