I've had 2 trips planned to NZ lately - both have been cancelled by Ms Adern.
Hopefully the borders open soon - so we all can get on over. Tearai looks enticing
Will make sure to look you up.

Only two trips cancelled? I wish I could say it’s only two for me! ;D

I will do my two weeks of quarantine at the end of February, without complaint. I think Bill Coore did it three times!

At least it’s not a full 2 weeks anymore. ;D
From 11:59pm Thursday 23 December 2021, all travellers from countries NZ does not have quarantine-free travel with must spend 10 days in an MIQ facility. You will be tested for COVID-19 four times in MIQ, on arrival, on day three, on day five or six and on day eight or nine.

That's right now. No telling what it will be by mid February, so I'm just expecting two weeks and will be happy if it's less.
Brian Slawnik and Clyde Johnson should be getting to their tenth day any day now.

Difference being you travelling for work - me travelling for leisure. I'm not going to use up 2 weeks of leave in quarantine doing nothing. At least you can work while in quarantine.
Until NZ borders are fully open - a holiday trip doesn't really make sense.

Daryl,
At this stage Ms Ardern has said it's end April before borders are slated to open. Me thinks it will be longer than that going off recent trends.

I don’t disagree. The closed border is just too popular among her constituents.

What will they charge for green fees? $500 seems likely, plus caddie.
-
The green fee question is an interesting one. If they price it at $500 then virtually no NZ golfer will go. If, however, it is much more reasonably priced then they could do well. This will particularly apply in winter when Auckland’s clay courses are not that attractive.
Overseas golfers will not be the making or breaking of this facility.

Day 10...of 15...if you test positive on your Day 5 PCR!! :'(

I'm guessing you're pretty excited about this opportunity.

Good point.
Some countries, Ireland being one, parts of the UK being others, have lower 'discounted' rates for golfers who are members of clubs in that country. Does NZ?

Many clubs offer a discount for members of a, NZ Golf affiliated golf club, which I presume is nearly all of them.

Both Cape Kidnappers and Kauri Cliffs have a lower green fee for NZ residents affiliated with a club vs international visitors. Perhaps Tearai will be similar.
PRICE PER ROUND | OCT-APR | MAY - SEP | New Zealand Affiliated | $322 | $230 | International Guest | $649 | $400 |
Basically half off for affiliated.
