Title: Off-Topic: Thumb Arthritis Surgery?
Post by: CJames on May 07, 2019, 12:38:58 PM
Apologies for this off-topic inquiry, but if anyone has any personal experience with any of the various surgeries employed to treat carpometacarpal (CMC) joint arthritis aka trapeziometacarpal (TMC) joint arthritis, I would be most grateful to hear of it.  Specifically, I’d be most interested to learn of successful/unsuccessful outcomes, time until full golf was able to be resumed, impact on strength of grip, and quality of post-surgical play.  Thanks in advance for any perspectives that can be provided.

I tore my ulnar collateral ligament (UCL) of the right thumb. While the surgeon repaired that he also performed some kind of work on the arthritis that was present. I am not sure what exactly he did. I had the surgery in April and didn't play golf until late September.
