I met Lou King in The Lark restaurant in Tiffin, IA. (since burned down) while I was a student at the Univ. of Iowa.  I played baseball and went with my parents and a teammate and his family who was local and knew Lou King.  As we were walking to our table they stopped and introduced me, he was very nice and liked athletes and talked baseball for a couple minutes.
BTW The Lark was also where Bobby Knight would eat while in town to play the Hawkeyes.
