A different type of World golf course list ...

How many golf courses have you seen beginning with each letter of the alphabet ? list the best one's you've played by letter.

The best to date I've seen are:

The timing of your post is uncanny. At the beginning of the summer, I had been steadily chipping away at my two primary golf goals: play at least 300 courses, and play in all 50 states. I currently have racked up 178 courses in 19 states*. A family friend, seeing my pencil collection, asked if I had played a course starting with every letter of the alphabet…and that has now become goal #3. Here is my list of favorite courses played by letter of the alphabet:

***I excluded “Country Club of” and “The” when sorting alphabetically

From my observation - it is clear that U, X and Z are those letters with the fewest golf courses. My sample size was only one a piece.

Surprisingly, D & E for mine had a small sample size and I, J, Q, V moreso.

There's heaps of golf courses out there with R, S, T etc.

I won’t do it on a public forum like GCA, but it is fun to think of an equivalent thread but the worst course you’ve played with each letter in the alphabet. 


I’m confident my list would be Top Ten.  Heck, probably Top Two. 


And only my friend Mike Cirba could beat me.  😀
