Sadly I can not take credit for the idea or the sign. I do accept responsibility for the fact that it has stood for years now because I am sure that if I or any member felt it was inappropriate it would be taken down. My guests always see it as more of a tribute than an insult.

I can't think of a course in the world where I wouldn't be thrilled to be remembered in the exact same way.

He's going the same place you're quoting...the wrong one!!

I'm guessing you meant to quote the other image. He is actually aimed at the 11th green at Country Club of Buffalo. He was playing his patented, trademark "slinging hook" that day. The fairway is to the left of the tree stand, so he has quite a draw to play, I agree!

I thought I was playing a Dye course and the walking path was intentionally misleading me too far left, so I compensated.   ;)

Yes, the slinging draw missed and ended up somewhere near 11 green (off the toe).  But as Andy and Ron would appreciate, I abandoned the first, reloaded, and put the second ball on the par 5 in two for a routine birdie 6.
