Once again, it is an honor just to nominate myself. ;D
My seven year old son, Jacob, during our first game together at a bright and blustery St. Davids Golf Club, Pembrokeshire, Wales in April.

Not sure if unusual formats are allowed. If yes, this would be my submission.

You're kind of the Susan Lucci of the POTY's.
All the best,

If I have to ask how to get a photo posted on these threads am I already disqualified? I must be a total fool with technology because for the life of me I can't figure it out.
These are some damn good photos already. Thanks for posting.
Do you have that same shot with a wider angle lens (and smaller aperture) so the Magic Windmill is also in focus?

Great photos Connor! Do you mind telling a newbie what courses those are? I have my guesses, but I am very curious!

David Elvins, what a great photo! All natural, i.e. no touching up?
My favourite shot of the year in both senses, probably because it was one of only a handful of decent ones I hit all year!

I had a bad photo year...I beg to differ.

I don't post here very often, but I thought I'd share my favourite photo of 2013. Shot with an iPhone, so the quality isn't the best.

This photo won’t win an award nor is it from 2013, but as this topic uses photos to reflect on this past year, I post a photo of a dear friend we lost, doing what he loved doing, golfing with friends.

Jonathan Becker graced us with his presence here in Australia over January. On a warm summer morning, we played Royal Melbourne West, then ventured to Kingston Heath for the afternoon round. Becker was playing well, and even found an old rusted horse shoe in the rough while looking for a playing partner's ball on KH #1. We wondered if it was once worn by a horse at the site for digging out bunkers.
However it got there, it brought him good luck.
After a big drive on 7 (reachable par 5) Becker had 176yds to the hole. Following some discussion on line, wind, green front, and club, he let rip. After several seconds of majestic flight, the ball landed precisely where we described, and rolled smoothly into the cup. It genuinely never looked like it was going to miss. Quickly reaching for the phone, I was able to capture how a visiting American celebrates an albatross (double eagle) on the sandbelt.

Great shot, other than the time stamp which, unless your camera is broken, excludes it from the contest.

Ulrich, understandable points.Only making it harder for the judges
However, I look at it as an opportunity to share stuff without need for further elaboration.
The difficult part is in figuring out the formatting and getting it up. Having FINALLY done so,
why limit to one photo? The first is the entry. The rest are gravy.
It's like a trip around the world.
I'm going to nominate Wayne Freedmans 2nd photo. Its entirely unique, different than any other photo. Technically its perfectly taken yet it confuses the viewer. It creates emotion which is what art is all about.
