Golf dorks on the loose...

AAAARGHHHH! The image is cropped and presented in lower resolution. Please tell me that the judges will be looking at the photos in the proper aspect ratio and with intended color correction.
If not, please replace it with the par-3 photo (fence limbs in the foreground) as that aspect ratio and composition is as intended.
Sorry, I am a cinema D.P. in my other life.

Is he the guy that submitted that exceptionally artistic, skillfully composed and superbly captured image of the foggy walk at Cypress?
Yes the 18th green complex is great for golf balls and bicycles....

Some very excellent entries so far. The resolution in those new cameras is spectacular.
Mine are not an entry. I didn't take any spectacular pics this year for consideration of a contest. I just wanted to share a sequence on hole #13 at my home course, a par 4, shortest par 4 on course at 340. This is a series of images that I am lucky enough to witness, every time I play golf with this man. He is going to be 81 in a few days. This is in Oct., 2012. I get to play with this guy about 2-3X a week. He carries that distinguished bag every round, rain or shine, cold or hot, and he is proud of earning the right to carry and display that logo from his 3 decades service, retired Marine Corps Major, Steve Kaster. I missed two months this season due to crumbling body. I'm 17 years younger than Steve, but he never missed any rounds all year. Toughest guy I know.... :o 8)

Old camera, low resolution, decent hole, great company. What more could be fairer? ;D 8)

Semper Fi!
Great picture Mike but how long until someone complains about kids tearing up the course? :D
Some great photos so far i am loving this thread.
A few months ago i was lucky enough to play golf across New Zealand and this is a photo from the course at Jacks Point in Queenstown. Whilst certainly not the best course i played (Paraparaumu Beach and Kinloch dead heat) it was easily the most spectacular, even beating Kauri Cliffs and Cape Kidnappers. We just don't get these snow capped mountain vistas in Australia.
This from memory is the 8th green.

...the groundscrew (a.k.a. "my adopted Aunts") at Shanqin Bay, China...t'was Mother's Day, little did they know...here they are on 16 tee, topdressing by hand. Notice how bundled they are, it was likely 100 degrees that day.

A note to the contestants:
If you post your entrée as follows, it will size the photos appropriately to prevent the need for scolling/cropping/etc.

The morning before "the speech."
Not my pic, but easily photo of the year IMHO:
"The Testicles"
I'm generally partial to those with at least one golfer in them, but Guy's Cabot picture is pretty striking.
If you photoshop in a black and white Benham it wins for sure.

Where is the par 3 Matt and Anders? At first glance, I thought it was the 10th at Swinley.
Not a good photo, just good architecture:

Matt, was that from the Mashie? I remember the light being pretty awesome that morning.

Is this #2? Remember being long on my approach. It went downhill from there.
Matt,
Definitely post them if you get a chance...I know I'd like to see them. Seems like the Fort is a bit under-exposed on here as well.
Wish I had a better quality picture, but the setting more than makes up for it. 6th tee at Westward Ho!

Nice! Now THAT'S what a golf course should look like. Good thing they don't hold Majors....

the Committee will choose five photos as the finalists (to be posted on the 22nd);
Sven:
My "winner" was beaten out long ago. I will post but it certainly won't be top 5 or 10. Good thing as year end has been crazy with the impending tax increases (I am sure it is the same at your shop too) and I haven't had much time on the site over the last couple of weeks.
However, thanks for remembering my stupid banter!
For both groups, my vote is for #1.
3 and 3
Great thread Sven - thank you.
#3 (apologies Benny!)
#2 (apologies jeff)
I like #11 runner up also...
late honorable mention entry:

The late Ralph Livingston III looks on as perennial hickory champ Randy Jensen plays a shot at the Hickory Open at Kingsley. Photo wasn't taken this year as Ralph was too ill to play, but a major loss to GCA, Kingsley Club and particularly the hickory golfing community.
