Title: Irish Open - Killarney
Post by: Mark_Rowlinson on July 31, 2011, 04:59:31 PM
Anybody see this? How was the course? How much of the original course was used? I didn't see much of it - the Trent Bridge Test Match and Ladies' Open took my attention as well as gardening and the Treacle Market in Macclesfield.

Mark,

I saw a little bit as I was watching Formula 1 and Cricket! I understand that Mackenzie and Ebert did a lot of work with the greens to get it up to USGA standard to allow the club to host a tour event. I would suspect that the greens are more undulating than the original ones.

Cheers
Ben

I think it was played on a very average parkland course. I played both of them. It was just golf fot golfs sake.
