Mike, I have one that I won in a tournament.   They are a little pricey....

I like the small sun mountains with a stand since that is easier on my back.

Here are a few:

Todd Rohrer who own MacKenzie is a great guy and their product is really cool.

Disclaimer - I partner with MacKenzie to sell bags through The Walking Golfer - but I didn't put Mike up to starting this post!

I walk 95% of my rounds and I like my 2 pound Sun Mountain back (with GCA logo).  These look heavier than necessary.  Plus it ain't old-school, but I like the stand.

These look fantastic...esp. the little "llama" mesh bags. It's a great way to raise money for the Walking Golfer site though Rob! The next time I'm in the market to buy a good one strap bag I'll probably look towards a MacKenzie bag.

Mike,
Does your $770+ Mackenzie bag have a place for your +2,000 shoes?  ;D

I won one in a golf match back in the late '80s. This was when Peter Jacobsen and his brother were still involved, guess they are out of the picture now, name and all. They were expensive then, about twice/three times that of a standard bag. Seems like they've increased that margin to around five times the standard, and fifteen times that of a good Sunday bag.

No knock on the quality though, the bag will last you a long time, and good for a single guy who doesn't have a wife who'd give him another orifice if she found out he spent a mortgage payment on a golf bag.  ;D

Their web site has some good photos in the gallery.  Maybe we'll see from GCA thread at their site.

And on the positive side of pricing issues,   I do like their guarantee,  " We will repair your MacKenzie Walker Golf Bag for as long as you own it, at no cost to you, as long as you believe it should be our responsibility. If you believe any needed repairs should be your responsibility, we will charge you only what the repair costs us. You pay to ship your bag to us, and we pay to return it to you.  "

I purchased a Ping Moon II bag this Fall and look forward to using it in 2010.  It has a unique single-strap construction I've not seen anywhere, nor did I know of it when I ordered it from Karsten.  Definitely a walker's special.

Unfortunately this is the only picture I have handy.  It is at Delamere Forest in England.  Got whupped up pretty good by the club champ.  I used a trolly but the bag should only be carried.  I have had it for about 10 years.  i suspect it will outlive me.

I finally found a photo of my own bag.  I kept finding good photos of friends bags.  This is what your room looks like if you live AT the California Golf Club.

These bags are like fine wine....I still have and use the first one I ever got some 17 years ago.  Someday I will scan in the photo from Christmas morning.  Unless you are Sean Tully and play with aged "inferior equiptment" made out of wood, you will surely replace your clubs before you ever need to replace your bag.  Lifetime guarantee.

Maybe Ran, Ben CD, Sean Tully etc can post photos of theirs.

It is a leather walking golf bag, originally designed by Peter Jacobsen.  It is handmade in Portland Oregon.  Guaranteed for life.

Bob,

First time I played at Cypress (and I am a nobody), the head pro Casey Reamer walked out to the parking lot as we were getting out of the car...he helps us with our clubs, pulling them out of the trunk.  As he lifts my 17 year old faded red leather MacKenzie bag he says something to the effect..." Now this is a Cypress Point Bag "       Not sure if he thought I was cool or not, but I definitely felt cool for those few minutes.

Where else does the Head Pro get your bag out of your trunk...Honest question, any other clubs do this?

I am curious about the origination of the Mackenzie Bag.

I have a old leather golf bag made by Macmonies of Portland Oregon.  It is almost the same style exactly.  It has stamped on the brass plate Hand Made Portland Oregon.  Could someone tell me what if anything is stamped on the new Mackenzie Bags?

I am curious if the bags have any links?

I save my bag for special occasions.

Here are a few (low res) pics from our trip to Bandon - I don't have one of the Sunday Bag we presented to Mr Keiser and the resort as part of The Walking Golfer of the Year Award - yet - but I just downloaded these.

I am totally stoked with the Argyle bag - we are going to sell 10 Limited Edition Argyle Bags to raise money for The Children's Course and The First Tee.

The first is #4 at PD - The fog in the distance rolled in for our approach shots and hung out for the rest of the round.

The second is #8 at PD.

The third is #13 at PD.

There are a couple of companies that sell these high end leather bags, like MacKenzie and McKennon, and their products are as similar as two peas in a pod. If you're someone who already has a big heart and can afford it, buy away, but I think it's also really 'cool' to buy one of the very good Sunday bags that are available for $50.00 or so and use all or part of the $700.00 savings to buy your local high school team seven new bags, or spend the savings on some other worthwhile endeavor.

How do they work playing in wet Oregon? Does the wet ground ruin them?

I am a 1 strap fan myself and love these bags but at that price and playing most of my golf in Seattle, it doesn't make sense.

Hi Sean,

The leather holds up really well in the rain - you just wipe the bag off afterwards and let it dry out in your garage. It will look just like it did before you took it out after a few hours. I have not had any problems with my Walker and it has been out a bunch of times in the rain.

A lot of people ask what happens to the bag when it gets wet - the same thing that happens to a cow - it gets wet and then it gets dry.  :)

If it is nasty out - I tend to use my Llama which is a two pocket ballistic nylon bag with leather accents that is the same silhouette as the Walker but quite a bit less expensive ($250 with shipping). The ballistic nylon beads water off more obviously and it is a bit easier to wipe down if it gets muddy.

I totally understand what some of the guys are saying about cost, etc. An $800 golf bag is not for everyone, for some people it just doesn't make sense whether they can afford one or not - to each his own.

Just like the other guys who posted their photos, I love my Walker and Sunday bag - I would rather play older clubs and spend $800 on a leather golf bag that will last forever than spend $50 on a sunday bag and $1500 on a new set of irons and woods that will probably be replaced in a couple of seasons.

Feel free to PM or email me if you want any more info.

Sean,
The bag isn't that much of a problem but when my leather pants get wet they shrink and the last few holes become an issue....

Yeah, because everyone should look the same and consumers should buy their golf bag from the sea of blah at Golf Galaxy.

That is good taste?

Every golfer has a choice, but if yours is to buy an unattractive, overly featured, athlete subsidizing, made in asia and cheaply constructed "OEM" $150 golf bag every couple of years that looks like a NASCAR - I'll stick with my $800 customized leather golf bag that will last forever.

Clearly my interpretation of good taste is different that yours - fortunately we live in a society where taste is not mandated.

We'll circle back in 10 years to see who got the most out of their golf bag(s).

I don't know guys.  A high quality bag can last a lifetime if taken care of.  My father still has a leather bag from the 1940s and it looks good as new.  But then so do his golf shoes, hunting boots and ball gloves which are pretty darn old as well - the gloves are from the 1930s.  I wouldn't buy one because it isn't practical as an everyday bag.  Not enough pockets for year round golf and no stand to keep the bag out of the slop.  But if you live in a warm, dry climate and like to walk with 6-8 clubs, it is an enticing prospect.

Ciao

A round of golf can cost $30 or $450 and you have nothing but a memory at the end of it.

I am doubly lucky in owning a MacKenzie bag but must confess it was a gift from a good friend. I look forward to the day when we play a round together with our almost matching bags on shoulders.

There was this guy on here who came up with a theory one time, I think it was called the "Big World" or something like that.

Yes, and it's nice to see that even though there are many different opinions being expressed about value, etc., no one has stooped to calling anyone a s**thead because they hold a different view.

Rob,

How do they work playing in wet Oregon? Does the wet ground ruin them?

I am a 1 strap fan myself and love these bags but at that price and playing most of my golf in Seattle, it doesn't make sense.

Sean,
The bag isn't that much of a problem but when my leather pants get wet they shrink and the last few holes become an issue....

If you see guys that look something like this at your local course...you'll know the Mike Young chapter of the Hillbillys tour has made a tour stop!!   ;D

The Mac bag is cool, I just don't like the idea of putting it down, getting it wet in the rain in addition to dropping your clubheads in the potential muck.

If they had a stand bag option I'd think about buying one.  I'm sure they are durable and long lasting....

Is this "funny/satire" Jim talking or "grouchy" Jim talking? I can never tell.

I couldn't find any of your very good $50 sunday bags available for sale on the site above - but the domain is available so you still have a chance to make a go of it!

Jud asked a question about where he could find info on the Llama - so I let him know where that info is available.

This thread was started by someone who is excited about a product that they put on their shoulder when they go out to enjoy a round of golf. I would imagine that most people are reading the thread because they have the product and want to share their pics or they are interested in the product and want to learn more - if not, they probably have better things to do.

Why you seem to have an issue with a small American company that hand stitches quality golf bags at their shop in Portland, OR that they sell through a website that promotes the benefits of enjoying the walking game of golf is beyond me.

Do you think we are getting rich from selling these bags? If so, you are sorely mistaken.

Proceeds from the bags go to The First Tee/The Children's Course in Portland, OR and to help promote initiatives like The Walking Golfer of the Year award, sponsoring Society events, and improving the site so golfers can use it as a resource. I would imagine that most people on GCA would think that a better awareness in this country of the benefits of walking would be a good thing and it would be better for the golf industry if walking golfers had a louder voice.

If a $50 sunday bag does it for you then start your own thread about how it improves your golf experience and where people can find them. I certainly won't bring my cynical personality over there and chirp away because I am bored or have too much time on my hands or think that I am "funny" with my "satire".

Rob,
If you don't see how a $750.00 golf bag doesn't rate a little comedy, especially in these times, then I don't what to say to you.
But I will say that you should read the thread, I never said don't buy one.
I have said this:
"No knock on the quality though, the bag will last you a long time",
..and:
"If you're someone who already has a big heart and can afford it, buy away"
.......and even though I didn't pay for it, I did mention that I have an old one from the Jacobsen days that is still being used, but not by me.

I appreciate that the USGA has a walker’s program and that that there are several societies like yours who have followed them in that pursuit, the values of  playing golf afoot are well known and should be promoted.
I don’t see using GCA as a promotional tool to drive traffic to other sites or to make sales pitches for products as a particularly good idea, and that type of activity was always frowned on at this site. Lately GCA is sounding more like a mini golf expo than an architectural site. The amount of commercial activity has increased significantly in the past year, much more than the casual poster who creates a topic lauding his favorite bag, or wedge, or shoe, and much more than I’ve seen in the 9 or so years that I’ve been here.

I think the 'info-mercials' should remain on the Golf Channel.

Like it or not, that’s my opinion.

p.s. You will never “find any of (my) very good $50 sunday bags available for sale on (this) site” because I prefer not to mix business and pleasure.

Hasn't it been fairly conclusively proven that the one shoulder strap is not a good idea?

I don't have any scientific studies to quote other than years of experience carrying one and henceforth walking lopsided for the following 48 hours.

I always thought the double strap, spreading the load equally across both shoulders, was brilliant.

Why a step back in time with the $800 bag?  No kick stand....no double strap....

Michael, two straps would be overkill for someone carrying a wood, three irons, a sand wedge and a putter. I think that's more the intended market for these bags. I guess the ultimate would be if someone could post a photo of a guy walking with a caddie carrying their MacKenzie bag with six clubs.

My problem with even the under-$50 minimal bags is that once I'm carrying a six-pound bottle of divot mix it doesn't matter how few clubs or how light the bag. I need at least two straps and preferably a set of wheels. Wish I played on something other than Bermuda (or could afford to pay someone to fill my divots for me).

I find a stand and a plastic endcap on the bag combined to dew-proof a bag pretty well. But stand bags are so 1990's, I know.

For the winter up here, I went with a Ping Sunday bag and about 9 clubs.  It was light and I liked it, but I still missed that second strap.  The bag feels more secure that way.

I have a couple of different Sunday bags but both of them have long enough straps to be able to carry the bag quiver-style. It's a very good option to the problems associated with either the single or back-pack style options.

Dave,
If it's raining, forget it, most of the sundays are nylon. If it's wet ground and I find myself walking w/one I hang the butt of the bag over the edge of a bunker and that keeps the grips away from the water. That doesn't help much in the fairway, but you would only be laying the nylon on the grass for 10 seconds or so, no?  ;D

I'd pay a lot for a waterproof, Gore-Tex lined bag Sunday bag.  The only issue I have with my little $35 Sunday bags is that - like all sub-$800 bags - water and dew seep through them when you lay them on wet grass - and the grips get wet.  I suppose the issue with waterproofing a bag is that they probably turn into a rust-creating petrie dish after a round if you don't completely dry your clubs off after the round - and who can say they do that every time?

This might be the closest thing you will find.  http://www.titleist.com/accessories/carry_bags/stadry.asp

And I love the look of the MacKenzie bags.  One day soon...

I think quiver style is the best solution.  Getting the double strap on and off all the time is a pain in the butt...

Obviously every golfer is different - I like the various carrying options that you get with a single strap bag.

I tend to use the quiver style like Jim (and use my arm to press the bag against my back above the hip for additional support) and mix it up with right shoulder on shorter walks.

The most important element of using a single strap bag is probably weight.

I don't know what the "breakeven" would be for most golfers - but if you can get your clubs down to 10 or less and keep the stuff in the pockets pretty light, then it is very easy to pick up and put down a single strap bag. I think my bag probably only weighs about 15 lbs. on the course (depending on how much water is in the bottle).

If your bag weighs 30 lbs then a stand and double straps probably does help (although I always felt like the double strap put a lot of weight on my spine and lower back).

I just ordered and received a MacKenzie Sunday walker made out of all black ballistic nylon with black leather trim and my initials under the handle. The bag is really incredible and you can really make out the craftsmanship in its details.

I loaded everything into the bag this weekend that I usually carry (6-7 balls, tees, ball repair tool, a few coins, towel, etc.) with my 14 clubs and it's very light...just as light as the Titliest Sunday Nylon bag I was using before. The bag is certainly more expensive than the $50 Titliest Bag I was using before, but I usually wore one out each season...I'm guessing the Mackenzie will last quite a bit longer. I'll post picture when I can.

Overall, highly recommended!

Not al Mackenzie bags are $800.  I got mine at my club a few years ago for $350. I do love it. It bought a second strap that works well so can carry it on both shoulders.  There are two draw backs.  I you play in the rain by the time you finish you feel like you are carrying the cow from which it came.  They also stink on a cart. They get all marked up.  Consequently I don't generally take it on a vacation where I know I will take a cart. I do use it in GB&I.  The last time I was at Kinloch, the caddie traded it out for a $30 bag that has a stand.  So I find myself trading bags from time to time.  If I take a caddie at home or just walk and carry, my preferred way to play, I use it and love it.

Odd that this should pop up today.  I just bought a used Ping 4Under as a back up bag for my ballistic MacKenzie Walker and it seems to me that the Walker is just a bit lighter.  I walked my first round with the Ping on Sunday and it was strange having the dual straps - I had gotten so used to the single strap, it felt strange walking with it.  I think I like the Walker better as my daily carry bag.

I've had my ballistic for 2 years now, about 3 months ago I went to it as my full time bag. It's simple but great. I'm not someone who carries much in their bag and there's a decent amount of room with 2 pockets. I also got the water bottle holder on mine. The only time I miss a stand is on muddy days. About a month ago I bought a 4 Series Ping to have on bad weather days. I carried it around for 1 day before returning it, I never even took it on the course, just walking from my car to the range I didn't like the way it felt. I have never met anyone who didn't love their Mackenzie. I will also say that I've had several people with Jones bags tell me they are jealous of my bag.

I've had my Walker for two seasons now and I can say they are easily the best golf bags made today. The leather on mine needs a little buffing/polishing and there is a loose stitch/string inside of the bag, but otherwise it's held up extremely well. The bag itself is light and carries perfectly.

I scratch my head when I hear all the whining about Fazio budgets and the exorbitant cost of golf in America at the same time we extol the virtues of a $750 piece of leather to hold our clubs.  I must say, I was really drawn to the Dismal River MacK bag in the pro shop, but my inquiry was rebuffed by none other than the Owner who pointed out that it was not available for sale to guests.  As they say, membership has its privileges.

Making golf courses more affordable allows more people to play more golf, which shouldn't prevent those with means from enjoying their $750 bags. There is zero connection between these two things.

I wish the MacKenzie would add a stand - even if just for the ballistic.  I had surgery on my arm a little over a year ago and it will start hurting when having to reach down and pull the bag up.  Also, I don't always travel with my bad since a lot of caddies don't like them since it does not have a stand.

Really?  And how does the existence of a Dallas National or a Shadow Creek prevent more people from playing golf?  Are you suggesting that only Fazio designs golf courses and only John McDonald and Steve Wynn develops them?  The problem with building affordable courses in much of the country is that the consumer seems to be unwilling to pay the green fee that is required to make them viable (reference the golf is in the pizza business thread/Ron Whitten GD article).

I am all for individuals and companies making stuff that other folks want.  I like extraordinary things like Dallas National, Shadow Creek, and MacK bags.  And I would be the last person to try to stop anyone from spending his money on something he wants.  I just find it ironic that on a site where many crap on a luxury brand such as Fazio, there is so much love for an ultra-expensive item that does comparatively little to further the enjoyment of the game, other than, of course, the image and status the bag projects.  Of course, I could be way off base.

After giving my MacKenzie Walker its biannual cleaning and conditioning I notice that the plastic rib that keeps the bag streched out had popped out. It seems the cloth sheath that holds it in place had ripped and even duct tape couldn't effect a repair. True to their word Thom had me ship it back and they are repairing it for free, as advertised.

While it's in the shop I have resorted to my Titleist stand bag; gosh I hope the MacKenzie arrives soon! I found that:

I don't need four different pockets to separate my irons; one for woods and one for irons is ideal

I don't need 6-8 different pockets to carry stuff, two are just fine

I hate the double strap arrangement, putting the left strap on is such a pain

The stand is awkward, nothing like just laying that baby on the ground

Since it's leather you can lay it down on wet grass with no harm to the bag or its holder

You do have to keep the suede on the strap from getting in contact with the wet ground however; a very small price to pay

Amortized over my golfing life I think I got a downright bargain!

If your road bike is worth more than your car, you are true cyclist, they say.

There is nothing wrong, and much good with spending money on luxuries that *you* value.  Even if $1,000 isn't a rounding error in your net worth, it's ok to invest in luxuries that reflect your values.  The MacKenzie bags fall squarely in that category, a luxury that I couldn't fault any true golf lover investing in.  *Especially* the one(s) changing out of the trunk of their beater.

Bump. Can anyone tell me how the ballistic nylon Mackenzie Walker compares to an ultralight stand bag such as the Ping 4 Series?  I'm thinking of asking my wife for one as a Xmas gift, but I want to know how it compares in terms of weight.

I also got the water bottle holder on mine.

Sam, What does the water bottle holder look like?

It's just a little pocket hanging off the side, it looks small but it can hold a good sized bottle.

Amortized over my golfing life I think I got a downright bargain!

I think it was Michael Whitaker who shared his friend's communication warning us of the insidious defense mechanism known as projection.

Another of the Great Oldies is rationalization.

Proof that golf is a Big World can be found at Secession Golf Club where one can find a large variety of travel and carry bags strewn all over the porch surrounding its wonderfully understated clubhouse.  Yes, MacK had a very large presence, as did Sun Mountain (Swift X my personal choice when not being borrowed by my son), Ping, Titleist, etc.

Amazing how my bag, which set me back considerably less than the price of a single round at many CA daily fees, still holds my clubs comfortably, off the ground, and will likely last longer than my swing.  All without the need of an amortization schedule (and self delusion).  ;)

I have a buddy who makes a simple, lightweight wooden stand for Mackenzie Walkers. They also work very well with Ping and Titleist Sunday bags. I have been using the stand for three years. PM me if you are interested in one.

Does anyone have some input on the weight of the leather options?  I would imagine it is quite heavier than the stand-bag options on the market.  I know that is not the reason you decide to purchase on of these bags, but still a consideration.

Fractional bag ownership, I like it!  I may be able to get you at good rate on a thirty year fixed loan with no points for your next bag.  Hope you can get back to Augusta soon for some golf!

I just don't understand why some people get worked up over what kind of bag people use or the cost thereof.

Mark,

I long to return to Augusta.  Agree to jump the fence with me, and it will be sooner rather than later.

What people do with their money is their own business.  That goes for joining Dallas National, buying a MacKenzie bag, or waiting until the twilight rate kicks in at Luna Vista (Dallas) to walk 18 for $14.  I can't carry any more due to some neck issues, but I still have scoured the internet for a deal on a MacKenzie since this thread was freshened.  No luck so far.

Ballistic Walker...

Carried it for a few months before it was auctioned off (for the charity I participated in the HHH for).

Really enjoyed it while I used it - including the 102 holes and a few 72 hole days.

I've carried a lot of bags over the past few years and I haven't found anything that matches up to the McKs for an everyday walking bag.

The Jones Players series is a nice budget-level alternative to the McK Ballistic Walker.

Here's one of the Jones...

I'm going to create a stand for my Ballistc Walker.  It's the best carry bag I've ever used, but it gets lonely sitting on the ground at morning lineup.  She should stand proud next to the other bags.
I want to add I've never had a moisture issue with my early morning rounds.

I have an ancient Sun Mountain walker bag I got back around 1990.  Tried it out last year, and I just hated not having the stand.

I'm all for tradition, but a stand really improves things - a lot!

Anyone use one of these 'X' style stands when using their carry bag?

Very useful when the ground is soft or wet or there's overnight dew on the ground.

On the very rare occasions I carry (tiny bag, only a few clubs, just a few holes) I use an 'X' stand I made myself.

I saw the idea years ago in a yee olde black and white photo of golfers and caddies in Scotland. Easy, peasie to make - two sticks, one piece of string, one nut and bolt. When folded, mine also doubles as a walking stick!

Ben,

Really cool bag, I'd be way too worried about it getting ruined. The RMGC logo really ads to it, as does the date, initials etc. I think you can get away with it in the dry climate of Oz but I'd wonder how quickly it would be destroyed, stained etc in a wet climate like Oregon/NL. That alone would keep me from getting such a beautiful bag. I know what these climates do to nice treated leather shoes.

Word on the street is they are having difficulty being responsive and filling orders in a timely fashion.  I think this either means they are busier than expected or struggling to make ends meet.

In any event, the stitching on my ballistic nylon bag has come undone and instead if sending it in to repair, I just bought a sun mountain carry bag.  I'm afraid if I send it in ill never see it again.

Fascinating how casually everyone has a theory on "how long" everything should take. How about we all remember golf, like life,  is all about relationships. If  Ben or anyone else has an issue with the company they would or could take it up with Todd or Thom.  I have 3 bags, spanning 15 plus years.  I have had 2 repaired due to my negligence, nothing on how they were made or materials.  Service has been timely and congenial.  You want quick? Ping makes a nice moon bag off the shelf.  Want a little more style? Go buy a Jones....every few years because honestly they are no better than our high school team bags that cracked on the bottom, split seams, cracked shoulder straps and faded. Want a handcrafted, timeless, functional luxury product? That's why a Mackenzie's exists. Just don't rag a company that you don't have first hand knowledge of yourself.

If you expect only positive comments about bag company, then perhaps they/you should be paying for advertising space.

I have no opinion on the quality of the bags, but I do tire of the increasingly prevalent infomercial mentality on gca.com.

I confess to having succumbed to a bit of conspicuous consumption (I have on occasion ragged on friends who put their Rolexes in my face, being an Omega man myself).  It's been sitting in my closet for a year, the smaller version in all black leather with a small, tasteful Putter Boy/Pinehurst logo in gold on the side.  I took it out for a few holes a couple weeks back but the single strap seemed to aggravate my surgically repaired neck, so back in the closet it went.  Though not conveying the same image, my Sun Mountain Swift X doesn't aggravate my neck and serves its purpose nicely.  Hopefully the value of fine leather and craftsmanship appreciates.

Randy,

I'm just as entitled to not want to wait nine months for an $800 golf bag as other people are to be happy with that transaction. To each his own.

They are beautiful golf bags, but it's seems remarkable to me that they don't deliver customer service of the standard of their bags.

Several people across three continents have advised me when discussing buying one to "take whatever lead time they quote you and double it". To me and my wallet, that's not really service matching the quality of the product or the significant cost.

But to those with more patience than me, good on them. They're gorgeous bags.

Hah!  Cool to see the "No Asshole" rule monetized in a book!

That's one of the three rules I use for hiring (from the Joel on Software (http://www.joelonsoftware.com/articles/GuerrillaInterviewing3.html) blog), plus my own "No Asshole" rule:

1. Smart.
2. Get Shit Done.
3. Not an Asshole.

Who wants to work with Assholes? Not me.  Why would I hire them?  I don't.

Follow those three rules and the rest is window dressing. :-)

Recently received my new Eliott bag. Made in Charleston, SC it took only 5 weeks from order to delivery. Scott Halter worked with me to design and build this custom bag. The stand is one that I made. Eliott offers an integral stand but I felt that playing 150+ rounds a year, it would have to give up at some point.

I'm still waiting for my 10 years old Ping Moon bag to break down so I can buy a Mackenzie.  Check that, I bought a back-up logo'd moon at Cypress Point Club 8 years ago that's on deck.  Oops, I realize that is no room for a poseur on this thread - sorry.

Jay,

With both a double strap and a stand you may as well take a cart.

Looking good, Jay!

Jay - that to me is the best looking golf bag of all. Wow, a million bucks you look. And, might I add without sounding too much like a fashionista, the plain white shirt and brown dress trousers you're wearing match the bag perfectly! Old school before they even had a name for it. Heck, if I looked that good I'd play 100 rounds a year and wouldn't care less what I shot -- I figure I'd be doing the world a favour just by looking that good.

I just can't see a custom bag with Pallotta embroidered on the back.

It's true. There have never been many Italian-Americans in the top echelon of golf. Even Eugene Saracini changed his name. (As Joe Pesci says in Goodfellas - I think golf is prejudiced against Italians). That's okay though. If I ever get such a golf bag, I think it would be fun to embroider "Kavanaugh" on the back instead. Then I'd start visiting all the Top 100 moderns. I can hear your many internet fans now: "Strange -- from his posts I always imagined him looking different..."

Is anyone aware of a slender airline travel bag that would work for a Mackenzie/Sunday bag?  Thanks.

These are all gorgeous bags, but I don't think I could part with my Sun Mountain 3.5 Zero G, someone has found another bag with such a great waist strap.

I am offering an all-black leather MacKenzie (Sunday) Walker at a substantial discount from the catalog price.  It has a small Pinehurst Putter Boy logo in dark gold on the right side below the single pocket, and comes with the leather rain cover.  The bag is essentially new with only four holes of use- it stressed my surgically repaired neck so into the closet it went.  Series inquiries only, by IM or email, please.
