Kevin,
I don’t think it is a second Bandon but a first Te Arai. You need to see it!

similar to Bandon for remoteness, links golf, and difficulty in finding qualified employees to service a huge and very high end golf resort

different than Bandon in many ways... pricier, private mansions on site, there are "members", ocean front dining and lodging, pickelball/tennis adjacent to the 11th tee on the South to name a few

it's only just begun

great place and would go back!
It's all about the golf!

I've recently returned from NZ and will post some photos soon.

First impression = as equal if not better than Bandon.

If one includes Tara Iti - I would suggest the rota of three in NZ are better than any 3 at Bandon (I haven't seen Sheep Ranch).

The place was busy the two days I was there. There wasn't many people staying onsite - probably the price has something to do with it. It seemed people were staying nearby or coming up from Auckland for the day as once the sun went down there weren't many around. The food and accommodation were very good.

Infrastructure is booming - more accommodation / clubhouses / restaurants currently WIP but also a lot of housing going in as well.

like I said, this is not Bandon Dunes golf resort......

please get over it

it is Te Arai Links, 2 courses, North and South and a large putting course

it is a great place, and none of the holes reminded me of anything Bandon

housing, lodging, and restaurants on the beach

more stuff for family

Bandon has five 18 hole courses and no pickleball LOL

there is no 80 foot bluff

semi-private and each course closed for public play every other day

Tara Iti is private

It's all about the golf!

If P3 is "reminds me of 11 Pacific Dunes", what is P4? You sank my battleship?

PS - I get it now, "P" is an abbreviation for the burdensome "par"  . . .  carry on.
