[1] All the Minute Books & the Competition Books record the spelling of Mackenzie’ s name with k in lower case. When Mackenzie wrote to Paget (The Estate Factor) at Harewood House in 1908, he signed himself as A. Mackenzie. This spelling with lower case k has been used throughout this document. There is no record of his name Alister being used, and only very occasionally is the title of Dr used. In the records his name just appears as A. Mackenzie. On a few occasions the minutes do records the spelling MacKenzie (K) and this is assumed to be an error. However today the accepted spelling is MacKenzie, because this was the style he adopted when he went to live in California.

[2] Covered are the Full & Green Committee Meetings from 1907 -1931. The full Committee meetings of the Alwoodley GC were all held at the Leeds Club at 1:45 P.M. (AL)

[3] Mackenzie tenders his resignation as Secretary and on May 3^rd Mackenzie’s resignation was accepted with regret and he was unanimously elected onto the Green Committee. (AL)

[4] Minute book (Jan 1907 – Dec 1910) has 8 pages cut out at this point. (AL)

[5] Mr. TL Taylor was proposed and seconded for the post of Captain for the current year. The Secretary reported that Mr. A. Mackenzie had been also proposed. (AL)

[6] Mackenzie elected Captain of the Club for the year 1912 (AL)

[7] During the year Mackenzie won the First Prize in the C.B. Macdonald’s Country Life Magazine competition for the best two-shot hole for the proposed Lido Golf Club. The prize was just 20 pounds, but it gained Mackenzie international publicity. One of the judges was Bernard Darwin who along with Mackenzie entered the World Golf Hall of Fame in 2005. (AL)

[9] Mackenzie was absent from 12 other Full Committee Meetings in 1924 as well as the AGM at 4:30 P.M. on Fri/Feb 29^th held at the Church Institute, Albion Place, Leeds (AL)

[10] Mackenzie was absent from 9 other Full Committee Meetings in 1925 as well as the AGM at 5:00 P.M. on Fri/Feb 17 held as the Church Institute, Albion Place, Leeds (AL)

[11] Medal Play: 36 Holes off Handicap. Mackenzie placed 8^th with 91 + 88 (179 – 16) = 163 (AL)

[12] Mackenzie lost 5 & 4 to Mr H Ives. Alwoodley won by 7 Matches to 3. In the evening, the West Riding Club dined the Remainder at the West Riding Club and a very happy evening was spent. (AL)

[13] Mackenzie lost to Mr CP Holiday by 5 & 3. Alwoodley won by 8 Matches to 2. (AL)

[14] Mackenzie was absent from 8 other Full Committee Meetings in 1926 as well as the AGM at 5:00 P.M> on Fri/Feb 26 held at the Church Institute, Albion Place, Leeds. (AL)

[16] Mackenzie lost to Mr RE Wainwright by 1 Hole. Alwoodley won by 7 Matches to 3.

[17] Mackenzie lost 5 & 4 to Mr H Ives. Alwoodley won by 7 Matches to 3. In the evening, the Remainder dined their opponents at The Leeds Club and a very jolly evening was spent. (AL)

[18] Mackenzie was confirmed as a member of the Green Committee. Mackenzie was present at 5 of the 13 Committee Meetings in 1927; but not at the AGM on Feb. 25 held at the Church Institute, Albion Place, Leed. (AL) There are no further minutes from the Green Committee Meetings from 1927 till 1948, when the next recorded Green Committee Meeting was March 5th & May 12^th (AL)

[19] Mackenzie lost to Mr D Fletcher by 4 & 2. Alwoodley won by 6 Matches to 5 with 1 Match halved. (AL)

[20] Mackenzie played all 4 games with Mr G Hirst, winning 3 and halving 1. Alwoodley won by 10 Matches to 4, with 2 Matches halved. (AL)

[21] Mackenzie again confirmed as member of the Green Committee, but was absent from all 11 Full Committee Meetings, as well as the AGM on March 9. (AL)

[22] Mackenzie again confirmed as member of the Alwoodley Green Committee. Mackenzie was absent at the Full Committee meetings on Feb 13, Feb 17, March 9, April 2, May 14. The AGM at the Leeds Club on Friday March 9 was followed by a Special General Meeting (SGM). Mackenzie was absent from both, but his brother Charles A. Mackenzie was present. (AL) May 13^th - Dr Alister Mackenzie applied for a transfer from Full to Country Membership as at Dec 31 / 1929, owing to his taking up residence in London at 1 Whitcomb House, 24 Whitcomb St, London WC 2.
