An operator should expect some degree of quality from the greens crew, so for me  misaligned markers are a no no . Pretty much believe that the markets should be perpendicular to the center of the fairway inrrespective of the tee box alignment .  Just is shabby work and lack of attention to detail .

How on earth do you you "tee pad", "tee marker", alignment guys align a shot from a fairway to a green?

maybe it should be lined up but if not it should not effect the golfer or where they hit the ball after all they have no such help in the fairway. As for shabby work and lack of attention to detail, we are all guilty of that now and again

Whether it be the super, his assistant , a golf pro or ranger , attention to details like this have a great effect on the overall experience . Many excellent stewards drive the golf course backwards everyday checking little details like this .

before it was just a light hearted comment but if you want to take umbrage then you might find people will take less notice of someone who does not do as they preach Glass houses and all that.

You must not be familiar with the history of golf.

Correct.  Would you describe the one-time rule (convention?) that players teed up within a club length of the previous hole location as fitting my description?

That's how early golf was played, the ball was teed up within one clublength of the previously holed out hole

It took approximately 100 years to change that rule....... To two clublengths,


As play increased, the tee was moved off of the previous green.

Then multiple tees came into vogue
