The talk of Architects Week on Golf Channel, and other GCA appearances on TV got me thinking.  In the interest of the recent call to organize and consolidate threads, perhaps it would be a good idea to have a thread dedicated to all GCA-related TV and video productions, including:
1.  The "heads ups" that we give each other to set DVRs and catch the shows.
2.  Links to the videos when they are posted.
3.  Discussion (of course) of the content.
4.  In the spirit of Ian Andrew's recent thoughtful post on expanding the GCA perspective on TV, more obscure clips that we come across in our travels around the net.

It looks like the amount of TV and web video coverage of architects and GCA-related topics is increasing, so best start now to create a curated resource for it.  I took an initial stab at a retrospective today.  It is by no means complete (for the life of me, I cannot find the Jack Nicklaus interviews from Architects Week in 2013), so feel free to add to it. 

My hope is, in addition to making it easier to find these video links, we will capture a chronology of the evolution of GCA through the recorded comments of the practitioners and tours of the courses.  Fire away.

On another note, Matt Ginella just tweeted this:

and then this:

Based on this previous tweet, I suspect that this has something to do with Streamsong #3:

It would be nice if Matt had actually got the quote correct.  Of course, he skipped out on the dinner and didn't hear me first-hand, so I wonder how he was reporting it at all.

I think the actual quote [at the dinner wrapping up their Invitational] was something like, "I figure if I keep coming back maybe I can convince Rich to hire me to do another course here, instead of talking to all the people who used to work for me," which was a reference to the rumors about courses 3 AND 4.  Perhaps that was too long for Twitter, but, I don't want to be on Twitter.

Congratulations to Gil and best of luck to him, he's got a great client to work for.  I hope his project is a smashing success so they keep looking to build more  ... I do have a good idea for another course there someday 

As to Jason's post, I am astounded by all he's found, and yet worried, because it seems to me that my appearances on TV are not much more than sound bytes, they go so damned quickly.  You can find 1000x more of what I think on the back pages of GCA than you ever will on video.

Yes, absolutely! Any of those guys would be a shot in the arm. Maybe it'll be Blake Conant's time to shine. Whoever or whatever a course #4 ends up being, let's hope the resort's business continues to grow to the point that your idea makes it into the ground there as well.

Thanks for the clarification on the Matt Ginella quote.  Although there are some videos in this archive that are longer, and thereby incredibly interesting, I agree with you about the brevity of many of these clips.  Most leave me wanting more.  That is exactly why I keep bugging them to air a show that goes deeper, and provides a longer-term perspective on some of these exciting projects.  They have the production capabilities, and for all the things that Twitter is not, it is a good indicator of the appetite for GCA content.  The audience is large, active, and engaged.

I love digging through this written resource when time and attention allow, and then there are other times when I just don't have the capacity.  Video is great for the latter.     

For now, my hope is that by stringing together the short clips, at the very least, we will see a historical narrative emerge.

Many thanks to Mike Clayton for turning me on to this batch that chronicles the redevelopment of Bonnie Doon by OCCM.  The Castle Stuart documentary, and this set of videos, illustrates how compelling long-form video content that chronicles these projects can be.  I love the photo tour and the written word, but this is just great too.

What a shame it would be if we missed out on an opportunity to capture footage of what is happening with projects that are happening around the world right now.  Ok, stepping down from the soapbox, here are the video links.  Can't recommend these enough.

The list was starting to get so large that it was unruly.  I did some reorganization of categories and formatting to make it more scannable, and hopefully, easier for each of you to find what is of greatest interest.

I have also added quite a few videos.  Some skew a bit toward the travel-ish side of the course tour genre, but there are nice nuggets in those videos.  I always like to see the courses, so I included them.

In particular, I would recommend the Barnbougle videos to satisfy your hardcore GCA jones.  Really cool stuff, especially the photo-tour video by Keith Rhebb.
